<< The Family business is God's business. For years Suffragan Bishop Cotton, his wife, Missionary Ora V. Cotton served the Lord and District Eight faithfully, and they taught their children to love the Lord as well. Last year was  a momentous year for Golden Harvest, as Suffragan Bishop Cotton retired from the pastorate, passing the baton of leadership to his second eldest son, Elder Michael Cotton.  While the challenges of the Pastorate can be daunting, the Cotton's have always found a way to keep smiling (left).

A Living Epistle-- I remember when his voice thundered from the pulpit, and it seemed like he could preach for three hours on a Sunday afternoon. I remember the revivals in King's Terrace, Home Garden , Coe Park and on Hanford-Armona Road. I remember the trips to Lily of the Valley when Elder Owens was alive, and I remember, bobbing for apples in his drive way on San Medina Drive. I remember the Sunday School Picnics at Roeding Park in Fresno and the trips to Bethesda. I remember the flanel figures he used to teach me during his summer Bible classes at Coe Park. He did this even if just a handful of us bike-riding kids showed up to listen. I remember sitting in his Sunday School class and being "trained for service" and how to read God's word. I remember the Bible classes on Holiness and the oneness of God. I remember eating tacos in his house the night I received the Holy Ghost 32 years ago. I remember him encouraging Michael (Buddy to us then) during his little league games with the Elks, and I remember swimming ditches under his watchful eye. And though he says little these days, I will always remember his passionate love for God, the people of God, and for me.  Thank you for being such a wonderful spiritual father and a brilliant example of Holiness. All my love....

Brother Mark Monia busy with his ushering duties between services.  Mark  is a junior at Lemoore High School and has contemplated a career in medicine. He has been a member of Lemoore football and track teams.
Sister Eva Boyd and Hanford West High School Basketball coach Mike Mathis chat during the teams visit to Golden Harvest this season. Sister Boyd is the webmaster for GH, a published author (poetry is her specialty) and the church pianist and Beginner Class Sunday School teacher...whew! Thank you, Sister Boyd.
Sister Esther (Lady) Cotton enjoying the service with her father, Suffragan Bishop Cotton. Lady will celebrate her birthday this Friday. She sang a beautiful saprano as a youngster at Golden Harvest. One of my favorites: "His Eye is on the Sparrow."
